Big Data as a Management Tool to Improve Guest Ratings

How should hotels allocate their resources to achieve the biggest possible improvement in customer satisfaction? To answer this question, we downloaded and analyzed more than half a million guest reviews of some 300 hotels from online booking and rating platforms. The hotels were all located in Shanghai, China, but the results provide more general lessons which we present in this article.
